Many psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners enter this profession because they want to help people truly heal. Yet in many clinical settings, PMHNP practice has become heavily focused on medication management, often leaving clinicians feeling underprepared to address the deeper trauma, attachment wounds, and nervous system dysregulation driving their clients’ struggles.
Many PMHNPs want to provide deeper therapeutic care but were never given the training, mentorship, or community needed to develop those skills with confidence.

Why I Created Beyond the Script Society
Beyond the Script Society exists to support PMHNPs in developing stronger psychotherapy skills and integrating neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and meaningful therapeutic connection into their practice.
After years of working as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I saw firsthand how many clinicians wanted to provide deeper therapeutic care but lacked the training, mentorship, and consultation needed to develop those skills with confidence.
Many PMHNPs enter this profession because they want to help people truly heal, yet the systems we practice in often emphasize medication management over psychotherapy.
I created Beyond the Script Society to give PMHNPs the education, consultation, and community that many of us wish we had earlier in our careers.
I believe PMHNPs are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between neuroscience, psychotherapy, and compassionate psychiatric care.
My hope is that BSS becomes a place where NPs can grow, collaborate, and develop the skills needed to create deeper, lasting outcomes for the people they serve.
